Touch Sensor: Momentary Switch 230V. For 2-Way and 3-Way Switching.

Product information "Touch Sensor: Momentary Switch 230V. For 2-Way and 3-Way Switching."

High-Quality 230V Touch Sensor (Momentary Switch)

High-quality 230V touch sensor, touch-operated momentary switch. Allows for easy replacement of traditional 230V rocker momentary switches.

Important: Please note that a momentary switch is not an on/off switch. A momentary switch only emits a current pulse.

Protection class: IP 40
Power supply: 230V AC 50/60Hz
Permissible deviation: -15% +10%
20.6mA at 230V AC (0.3W)
Static TRIAC output - monostable operation
Resistive load directly controlled with alternating current: 1A
Made in EU.
Warranty: 5 years (see warranty statement).
VDE certified.
Proven technology with thousands of successful applications over the years.

Applications:

  • As a "slave switch," you can implement intermediate and cross-switching with other ROHDE+ROHDE touch sensors (switches, dimmers, blind controls).
  • For controlling downstream electronics (e.g., external dimmers or relays).
  • For integration into home automation systems.

Function:

Similar to a doorbell button, the contact remains closed only while the touch sensor is being touched. The sensor responds to proximity at approximately 2 mm above the front panel.

2-Way or 3-Way Switching:

For a 2-way or 3-way setup, any number of momentary switches can be connected to 1 on/off touch switch, touch dimmer, or touch blind control. Each connected momentary switch then behaves like the on/off touch switch, touch dimmer, or touch blind control.

Installation/Technical Details:

  • Installation in standard round flush-mounted or cavity wall boxes.
  • Required depth of wall box: At least 45 mm.
  • 3-wire connection: Neutral wire required.
  • Max 2A.
  • Integrated LED, blue, constantly illuminated.
  • Very low power consumption in standby mode: 24 mA @ 230Vac (0.6 W)
  • 230V input and output voltage.
  • Each wall box can accommodate either 1 touch sensor in the centre or 2 touch sensors side by side.
  • Touch sensors with different functions can be combined individually behind a common touch panel.

Why Are Three Wires Required?

The neutral wire (N) is necessary to supply power to the touch sensor itself. Many electronic switches and sensors require a continuous power supply to function, which is achieved by connecting to both the live and neutral wires.

The live wire (L) provides the necessary voltage to switch the load (e.g., a lamp).

The switching wire (L' or L-out) is required to connect the live wire to the load when the touch sensor is activated. Without this wire, the sensor would not be able to switch the lamp on or off.

5-Year Warranty - WARRANTY STATEMENT:

ROHDE+ROHDE provides a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. During the warranty period, we will replace a defective product with a faultless product, provided there is a material or manufacturing defect. A purchase receipt is required to claim the warranty. This warranty is valid only for customers located within the European Union. Should a defect occur unexpectedly, please send the defective item, a copy of the receipt, a brief description of the fault, and your address to ROHDE+ROHDE®. The warranty provider is ROHDE+ROHDE Ursula Rohde, David-Gilly-Strasse 1, D-14469 Potsdam, Germany. The warranty does not cover: malfunctions due to incorrect connection, overvoltage in the power supply, incorrect handling during installation, atypical temperatures or humidity levels. Also excluded from the warranty are signs of wear such as scratches or cracks, damage caused by external influences such as bending, dropping, excessive heat exposure, mechanical impacts, or the use of cleaning agents. Only water without additives and a soft cloth should be used to clean the front panels and frames. Additionally, you have statutory consumer rights regarding defects. These rights can be exercised independently of and in addition to our warranty.
